Meet Justin. Justin is an Aviation Technician and has been with S3 Repair Services since August, 2014. For a year during his time here, Justin also served as a Component Repair Manager for S3 Repair Services before returning back to a technician. He first came to S3 having over 5 years of aviation experience spent in the United States Marine Corps. There he repaired and overhauled the T58-GE-16 and 16A engines for the CH-46E. Join us as we get to know Justin a little further:
What is a typical work day like for you? A typical day is about 10 hours long and involves repairing and or overhauling aviation components.
What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of the job is definitely the challenge. Not everything is cut and dry — there are a lot of gray areas to be determined. Furthermore, the complexity some of the units adds to the challenge aspect of my career.
What is it like working for S3? S3 is definitely one of the better jobs I have worked in my short time in the work force. The people within the company, that I have the pleasure of working beside, have been nothing but positive. Everyone within the company seems to have a great attitude which to me is a sign of great leadership!
What are the challenges you face in your position? Overcoming new obstacles and meeting deadlines; even if that means working more than usual.
What are your strengths in correlation to your job? My ability to understand and comprehend how every part is related to the aircraft's function. This aids in troubleshooting repairs and in turn, shortens turn-around times.
What do you enjoy outside of work/hobbies? During the week I'm more a creature of habit: eat, sleep, work, rinse, and repeat kind of day. On the weekends, I enjoy reading a book, continue working on my language skills in Japanese and playing games. I also enjoy working on my Miata, although I don’t do it as often as I’d like.
