Meet S3 — Ross, Warehouse Supervisor

August 11, 2016

Here at S3, our ability to deliver outstanding results starts with our team of highly trained experts.  We come from a diverse set of backgrounds, countries and experiences combining an impressive amount of aerospace experience.  We want to give you the opportunity to not only work with us, but also get to know us better.

Meet Ross!  Ross is our Warehouse Supervisor at S3 Repair Services.  He has been working for S3 since October, 2014 where he came to us packed with mechanical and shipping/ receiving knowledge.  Previously his experience at Optimum Vehicle Logistics specialized in various military vehicles such as hummers, tanks etc.  We sat down with Ross to get to know him a little better!

What is a typical work day like for you?  Long hours, very busy and demanding.  There is a large amount of material coming in to receive, such as piece parts for stock, customer units and repaired items.  I also work on shipping back to the customer the repaired items.

What is your favorite part of your job?  The people I work with.  S3 has a great team and atmosphere to work in.  I'm always learning new things — about the items we fix and what they do.

What is it like working for S3?  This position is very busy and demanding, but pairs with a lot of learning experiences.  S3 is the best company I have worked for to date!  The owners and team members are all nice to work with.  The owners take care of their employees well in my opinion.

What are the challenges you face in your position?  Keeping up to date on rules and regulations for shipping as every country and customer do things differently as well as how it ships.  Land, Air or Sea all have their own set of regulations for shipping that must be followed correctly to avoid costly fines or errors for the company as well as myself.

What is something that most people probably wouldn’t know about you?  How strong-willed, determined and competitive I am in anything I do.

What do you enjoy outside of work/hobbies?  Fast cars or cars in general, as I used to drag race my car at Union Grove at Great Lakes Dragway every Friday night.  I enjoy building things, visiting my camper in the dells, spending time lounging and fishing on boats, spending time with family and friends as well as love to to cook and hosting parties.
